BETHLEHEM, Pa. -Moravian University men’s soccer student-athlete Enzo Petruzzelli ’28 has been selected to join the NCAA Division III National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee after the 2026 NCAA Convention concludes in Washington, D.C., on January 18.
“I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Enzo throughout the application process and even more since he earned this appointment, and he has consistently demonstrated the leadership, thoughtfulness, and authenticity that this role demands,” said Landmark Conference Commissioner Katie Boldvich. “We are incredibly excited for Enzo to represent the Landmark Conference on the national stage and are confident he will be a strong, effective voice for Division III student-athletes.”
Petruzzelli will become the Landmark Conference’s representative to the 42-member DIII National SAAC. He is replacing Lillian Case, a field hockey student-athlete from Juniata College, who is completing her term in January after serving as the NCAA DIII SAAC Chair for the last year.
“Representing the ten schools in the Landmark Conference is both an honor and a responsibility,” stated Petruzzelli. “Each institution has its own culture and challenges, and I take pride in being a voice that reflects the collective experiences of our student-athletes. It motivates me to listen carefully, communicate effectively, and advocate in a way that benefits not just one school, but the conference as a whole.”
Petruzzelli earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team and the United Soccer Coaches All-Region V Third Team this fall after leading the Greyhounds with 14 points on six goals and a pair of assists. He scored five of his six goals in conference play to tie for the conference lead while helping Moravian reach the Landmark Conference Tournament as the third seed for the second consecutive fall.
Since arriving in Bethlehem, Petruzzelli has played in 28 career matches with seven goals and two assists, and he has also been active in Moravian’s SAAC as well as working with the athletic communications staff on video stream production and as a commentator.
“I wanted to join Moravian’s SAAC because I’ve always been passionate about advocating for student-athletes and making sure our voices are heard,” Petruzzelli said. “SAAC gave me the opportunity to contribute beyond my own team and help shape the overall student-athlete experience on campus. I was drawn to the chance to collaborate with athletes from different sports, work with administrators, and make a meaningful impact within the Moravian athletic community.”
When the opportunity presented itself to join the NCAA DIII National SAAC, Petruzzelli jumped at the chance.
“My interest in the NCAA Division III SAAC grew through my involvement at the conference and campus levels,” Petruzzelli explained. “As I became more engaged in discussions about student-athlete welfare, leadership, and policy, I realized how influential National SAAC is in shaping decisions that affect athletes across the country. Seeing how Division III emphasizes balance between academics, athletics, and personal growth really motivated me to pursue a role at the national level.”
Come January when he officially begins his term, Petruzzelli won’t be the only Petruzzelli on the NCAA DIII National SAAC as he joins his older brother Dominic, a men’s soccer student-athlete at Neumann University that is serving as the Atlantic East Conference representative through January 2027.
“Joining my brother on the National SAAC is incredibly meaningful to me,” noted Petruzzelli. “We’ve both shared a passion for leadership and advocacy throughout our athletic careers, so having the opportunity to serve together at the national level is something really special. While we each bring our own perspectives and experiences, it’s inspiring to support one another while working toward the same goal of improving the student-athlete experience.”
Petruzzelli’s three-year term will run through the end of the 2029 NCAA Convention and officially finish on January 13, 2029.
“Over my three-year term, I hope to grow as a leader while making a lasting impact on Division III athletics,” commented Petruzzelli. “I expect to learn a great deal about governance, collaboration, and advocacy, and I want to contribute ideas that help enhance student-athlete well-being and communication. Most importantly, I want to ensure that the voices of the athletes I represent are heard and thoughtfully considered at the national level.”
Petruzzelli becomes the second Moravian student-athlete to be a member of the NCAA DIII National SAAC. Stephanie Rickards Corrigan ’99, who was inducted into the Moravian Hall of Fame in 2015, served a term on the national SAAC from 1999-2001.
“Being only the second Moravian student-athlete to serve on the national SAAC is incredibly humbling. It means a lot to represent Moravian on such a large stage and continue building a legacy of leadership within our athletic department. I hope my involvement encourages other Moravian student-athletes to pursue leadership roles and recognize that our voices truly matter at every level of the NCAA,” finished Petruzzelli.
