Career-Highs from Wilson, King Leader No. 18 Elizabethtown to Semifinal Win

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The outside shooting of Cyleigh Wilson combined with the double-doubles from Jessica King and DaniRae Renno helped lead the Elizabethtown College women's basketball team to an 81-64 Landmark semifinal victory over Catholic Wednesday night at Thompson Gymnasium. Wilson and King both recorded career-highs in points while Renno registered a new career-high in rebounds as four players reached double figures for Etown in the win. The Blue Jays advance to Saturday's conference championship at Scranton.

No. 18 Elizabethtown (22-3) flexed its shooting muscle Wednesday night from the start. The Blue Jays began the game 9-for-14 from the floor, including 4-for-7 from deep, three of which came from Wilson. The junior hit all three of her attempts from beyond the arc in the first quarter as Etown got out to a 24-18 lead.

Wilson didn't let up, either. The Sandy Hook, Conn. native, one of the nation's top three-point shooters, put it on full display for the crowd in attendance. She doubled her three-point total for the half with three more triples in the second quarter to finish the first half 6-for-6 and a game-high 18 points by the break.

Catholic (18-8) had issues with the Jays' size as King and Renno made life difficult for the Cardinals. King posted 11 first-half points and Renno had already grabbed 12 of her career-high 17 rebounds. Etown nearly doubled up Catholic in the rebounding department in the first half with a 26-14 advantage on the glass.

Summer McNulty got going in the third with nine points, which was two better than her first half in total. The sophomore hit her lone three-point attempt in the third and also knocked down a pair of foul shots. She had nine of Elizabethtown's 17 in the third as the Blue Jays took a 15-point lead into the fourth.

Wilson hit her seventh three of the night in the fourth to set a new career-high and finished the game with 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting. Her point total and made baskets were the most by the junior in a single game in her career. King closed out her night with four more free throws to add to her 9-for-11 in the game, a career-best at the line, as were her 19 points. She added 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the year. Renno's 10 points and 17 rebounds were her eighth double-double of the season. McNulty had 18 points and six assists for the Jays.

Elizabethtown will travel to Scranton for their second appearance in the Landmark Championship. The Blue Jays and Royals will battle it out on Saturday, February 25. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
