Danzig is coming off an impressive conference tournament where the graduate student was named the Most Valuable Player. In the championship game, Danzig scored 16 of his team-high 20 points in the second half and added six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. In the semifinal matchup, Danzig scored 21 points. He leads the conference in points per game, averaging 20.1. He also ranks first in three-point percentage, shooting an impressive 44.3%.
Danzig kept the family tradition alive after earning All-Conference honors for the third time in his career. The younger Danzig joins brothers Ross and Ethan as an All-League selection. Ross was a three-time First Team selection as well as being named the conference Rookie of the Year (2011) and Player of the Year (2014). Ethan earned Second Team honors in both 2017 and 2018.
In the conference's 16-year history, the Royals have had six Player of the Year selections.
Rankine is the fourth River Hawk to take home Defensive Player of the Year honors, joining Bryan Majors (2009, 2010) and Jay Martin (2022). Rankine closed out his senior campaign ranked second in steals (2.7 per game) and third in blocked shots (1.3). Offensively, he ranked sixth, averaging 17.1 points per game. Rankine has been part of two conference championship teams (2020, 2022) and made the playoffs three times in his four-year career.
Ratcliff is just one of two freshmen men's basketball players to earn a spot on the All-Conference teams. In his first collegiate season, Ratcliff averaged 8.6 rebounds to rank third in the conference, averaged 17.5 points per game (4th), and led the conference in blocked shots with 51 (2.0bpg). He is just the second Greyhound to earn Rookie of the Year accolades, joining Oneil Holder (2016).
Marcinek and his staff guided the River Hawks to a 16-10 overall record and an 11-3 mark in the conference, which locked up the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. The honor is the fifth of Marcinek's career.
