Belgrave Named Men's Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.


Jalen Belgrave was selected as the conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete. He is the second Blue Jay this academic year to be selected as a Senior Scholar and is the third men's outdoor track and field student-athlete. He joins Matt Pysher (2018) and former teammate Christian Schaaf (2022).

A four-time All-Landmark Conference selection (three First Team, one Second Team), and a two-year team captain, Belgrave was part of the Blue Jays 4x100 Relay team that ran 42.75 that ranks them sixth all-time in program history.

A legal studies major, Belgrave finished his time at Etown with a 3.94 grade point average. Was was a three-time Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll selection, and was named to the Elizabethtown Dean's List every semester. Belgrave has been named to the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.

Belgrave's activities on the campus of Elizabethtown are just as impressive as his athletic and academic abilities.

He is the Founder and President of the Elizabethtown College NAACP (2020-23), the Founder and Program Director for the College's Social and Civil Leadership Academy (2022-23), and a member of the Student Senate and Diversity Board. He additionally served as the Co-Captain of the Etown Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Belgrave, who was selected as the Elizabethtown College Emergent Scholar, was also named the Blue Jays Athletic Association Male Distinguished Student-Athlete award winner.

Belgrave has committed to UPen for Master in Science (Social Policy & Practice Program).
