TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.
Trinity Soto of Elizabethtown College is a three-time All-Landmark First Team honoree in the discus, and has been one of the top throwers in the conference for years. Nobody has beaten her at the Landmark Outdoor Championships in the discus the past three seasons as Soto has gone on to win three consecutive gold medals for Elizabethtown. She also placed twice in her premium event at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships, reaching fifth in 2022 and eighth last week at Susquehanna.
She was also recently named USTFCCCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region in the discus after the best mark of her career, 40.40m, putting her third among her regional discus peers. The mark also reset her own school record.
Also, an excellent student, Soto achieved a 3.87 GPA as a biology major at Etown and was a three-time Landmark Fall (women's soccer) and Spring Academic Honor Roll selection as well as a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree. Soto has also been a four-year Dean's List student and a finalist for the Blue Jay Athletic Association Female Distinguished Student-Athlete Award in 2023.
Soto is the second Blue Jay to earn the outdoor track & field distinction on the women's side after Erin Doherty did so in 2021.
