Cummings Named Men's Lacrosse Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.

Colin Cummings has been tabbed the Landmark Men's Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete on Thursday. He is the second student-athlete from the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse program to earn the title and the third spring athlete for the Blue Jays to be named one of the conference's senior scholar athletes this week.

Cummings was one of the top midfielders for Elizabethtown in 2023 and set new career highs with 16 assists and 36 points. He also scored 20 goals in his second straight for the Blue Jays and had three game-winning goals. Cummings had a single-game career-high six points on March 8 in Elizabethtown's upset overtime victory over nationally-ranked F&M. The senior had a hat trick of goals and assists in the game, including the game-winning goal.

In 49 career games for the Jays, Cummings totaled 49 goals, 31 assists, 78 points, 4 game-winning goals, 6 man-up goals, 1 man-down goal, 44 ground balls, and 8 caused turnovers. He graduates from Elizabethtown with a 32-18 overall record, including an impressive 18-3 mark in the conference along with three Landmark Championship appearances with Etown.

An international business major off the field, Cummings is a three-time Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll selection and a Dean's List student. He did an internship with T. Rowe Price as a Sales & Marketing intern from June 2021 to August 2022 and also participated in the College's study abroad program, taking a semester at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.

Cummings is the second men's lacrosse player to be named the Landmark's Senior Scholar Athlete after Tom Mahoney in 2021.
