TOWSON, Md. - As the Landmark Conference counts down to the start of the 2026-27 academic year, the Conference will revisit some of the best stories from its member institutions through the Landmark Rewind series.
Running August 3-14, Landmark Rewind will spotlight one Landmark institution each weekday by featuring two stories originally produced by that school's athletics department. From student-athlete features and championship moments to community impact and campus initiatives, the series gives fans another opportunity to discover the people and programs that make the Landmark Conference special before fall competition begins.
The 2025-26 season marked the conclusion of senior attacker Jacob Morgan’s career at Goucher College, bringing a close to one of the most decorated careers in program history.
Over the course of his time as a Gopher, Morgan established himself as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in the history of Goucher men's lacrosse. A dynamic playmaker with an unmatched ability to score and create opportunities, he rewrote the program's record book while helping elevate the standard for the program.
During the 2025-26 season alone, Morgan amassed 52 goals and 52 assists for 104 points, breaking his own school record for points in a season and tying the conference single-season record. He also added 32 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. His offensive production consistently placed him among the nation's top players and demonstrated his ability to impact every facet of the game. At the conclusion of the Gophers’ season, he ranked sixth in NCAA Division III in points per game.
In his senior year, Morgan was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Landmark Conference honors after leading one of the most explosive offenses in the conference. These accolades capped a career that also included Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, ECAC Rookie of the Year, Second Team All-Conference (2024), and an Honorable Mention (2025).
Throughout the season, memorable performances became the norm.
Morgan earned Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honors on three separate occasions, highlighted by a 14-point week featuring 10 points against Shenandoah, a 10-point week, and a 22-point week. His consistency and ability to perform became defining characteristics of his career.
One of the signature moments of his career came during postseason play, when he delivered one of the greatest individual performances in Goucher lacrosse history. In the ECAC Tournament semifinals, Morgan exploded for eight goals and five assists, totaling 13 points while breaking the program's single-game scoring record and tying the Landmark Conference record.
At the conclusion of his career, Morgan finished with a total of 318 points, establishing a new Landmark Conference and Goucher College record for points in a career, surpassing the previous mark held by Kyle Boncaro, set in 2012.
Morgan’s excellence extended far beyond the field. He was recognized as the USILA Scholar All-American, highlighting his outstanding achievements both academically and athletically. Before this, Morgan was recognized as the Goucher College Male Athlete of the Year, an honor awarded to the institution's top male student-athlete across all sports. These recognitions reflected not only his remarkable athletic achievements but also the dedication and example he set within the men’s lacrosse program.
