TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference announced its 2023 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams on Tuesday afternoon.
Teams are nominated and selected by the eight league head coaches.
Offensive Player of the Year: Caroline Beckett (Catholic University)
Offensive Player of the Year: Brittany Bill (Moravian University)
Defensive Player of the Year: Rachel Rubenstein (Catholic University)
Rookie of the Year: Abby Andrus (Susquehanna University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Moravian University (Caroline Pape)
Beckett helped the Cardinals to a perfect 7-0 conference record, which clinched the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Women's Lacrosse Championship. The senior, who earns her second nod on the All-Conference First Team as an attacker, ranks first for the Cardinals with 38 assists and is second in goals scored with 29. She is the first Catholic women's lacrosse player to be named Offensive Player of the Year. The conference split the awards into Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in 2021. Prior to the split, Catholic had five overall Players of the Year.
Similar to Beckett, Bill is the first Greyhound to earn Offensive Player of the Year. Liz Bill was selected as the overall Player of the Year in 2019. Bill leads the conference with 79 goals and averaged 5.47 points per game, ranking her second. She helped guide the Greyhounds to a 6-1 conference record and the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Championship.
Rubenstein, a two-time All-Landmark First Team selection for the Cardinals, anchored a defense that has just allowed just 3.8 goals per game this season. Through 18 games, Rubenstein has scooped 56 groundballs and amassed 35 caused turnovers, both of which rank third in the conference.
The junior, who is the first Cardinal to earn Defensive Player of the Year accolades, will seek her third conference title this weekend as Catholic takes on The University of Scranton in the Women's Lacrosse Championship game.
Andrus had plenty to celebrate in her first year as a River Hawk. She became the first women's lacrosse player since 2013 to be named Rookie of the Year and helped SU to clinch a spot in the postseason for the second time in three years. The first-year attacker played in all 18 games this season where she scored 29 goals to go along with six assists and 13 groundballs.
Second-year Head Coach Caroline Pape and her staff led the Greyhounds to a 12-5 record, including eight consecutive victories, and guided the program to its fifth consecutive Landmark Conference Tournament on Wednesday.
