TOWSON, Md. - Jalen Belgrave of Elizabethtown College was selected as the Landmark Conference Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Belgrave was named a finalist for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year after being named the conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete earlier this spring. He is the second student-athlete from Elizabethtown to earn the honor as he joins former teammate Christian Schaff (2022).
Belgrave will now be nominated for the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition. Regional Winners for the DIIICA award will be announced in mid-August, with those honorees moving on for consideration for the national DIIICA Student-Athlete of the Year.

His commitment in the classroom, success on the track, and impressive resume for other on-campus activities make him an exceptional recipient. He has certainly left his mark on both Elizabethtown and the Landmark.”
A four-time All-Landmark Conference selection (three First Team, one Second Team), and a two-year team captain, Belgrave was part of the Blue Jays 4x100 Relay team that ran 42.75, ranking them sixth all-time in program history.
A legal studies major, Belgrave was a three-time Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll selection and was named to the Elizabethtown Dean's List every semester. Belgrave was named to the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.
Belgrave's activities on the campus of Elizabethtown are just as impressive as his athletic and academic abilities. He was the Founder and President of the Elizabethtown College NAACP (2020-23), the Founder and Program Director for the College's Social and Civil Leadership Academy (2022-23), and a member of the Student Senate and Diversity Board. He additionally served as the Co-Captain of the Etown Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Belgrave, who was selected as the Elizabethtown College Emergent Scholar was also named the Blue Jays Athletic Association Male Distinguished Student-Athlete Award winner. Belgrave has committed to UPenn to pursue a Master in Science (Social Policy & Practice Program).
