TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference unveiled its 2024 Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Conference Teams and award recipients on Wednesday afternoon.
All-Conference selections are determined by performances at the conference championships. Athletes achieving first-place are given First Team status, while those securing second-place finishes earn Second Team recognition, and third-place finishers receive Honorable Mention.
Track Performer of the Year: Jevontae Fearwell (Catholic University)
Field Performer of the Year: Jordyn Walker (Catholic University)
Rookie of the Year: Charles Montross (Susquehanna University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Susquehanna University
Fearwell dominated the short-distance events for the men, claiming victories in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. He set a new record for Catholic University's men's track program in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 6.90 seconds. Additionally, the junior comfortably clinched first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.43 seconds. Fearwell showcased his versatility as he contributed to Catholic's 4x400 relay team, securing a commendable second-place finish with a time of 3:27.75, the third-fastest in the program's history.
Walker soared to success in the triple jump with an impressive leap of 14.00 meters, defending his title as the indoor triple jump champion and clinching his fifth career Landmark gold medal. Following this triumph, he secured a third-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.84 meters.
Montross received the Rookie of the Year award after a stellar performance, clinching victory in the long jump with a final attempt measuring 6.95 meters. He also displayed his talents in the 60-meter hurdles, earning second place in the finals with a time of 8.63 seconds, having qualified with a preliminary time of 8.65 seconds. Montross continued the legacy of excellence for the River Hawks, becoming the third consecutive recipient of the Rookie of the Year award, following in the footsteps of teammates Austin Hurrell (2023) and Brandon Zimmerman (2022).
Following their triumphant third consecutive conference title win, head coach Ethan Senecal and the coaching staff of Susquehanna men's track and field secured their third consecutive Coaching Staff of the Year award. The River Hawks significantly improved upon their gold medal count from the previous season, clinching victories in events such as the 400m, 60m hurdles, 4x400m, and distance medley relays, as well as the shot put. Notably, their 4x400m relay team shattered a conference record previously held by Susquehanna.
