Husted Voted Men's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes annually, recognizing student-athletes in each sport, and considering both academic and athletic achievements.

Senior Scholar-Athlete History

These honorees must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are chosen by a committee comprising Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications personnel, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.

Chase Husted adds his name to the impressive list of men's basketball players from Juniata College who have been recognized as the league's Senior Scholar-Athlete, following in the footsteps of former teammate Nick Rigby, who received the honor in 2023. He becomes the sixth recipient from Juniata overall.

The season culminated with his key role in Juniata earning the program's third ECAC Tournament Championship, as he was named the tournament MVP. Across the two rounds of the tournament Juniata played in, he totaled 62 points, including a career-high 37 against Penn State Behrend in the semifinal, a 71.4% field goal percentage, a 76.9% free throw percentage, 24 rebounds, ten assists, six blocks including a career-high five against Penn State Behrend, and two steals.

Over the course of his career, Husted has made a significant impact, appearing in 90 games with 89 starts. He accumulated a total of 1,360 points, placing him seventh all-time in Juniata program history. Additionally, he contributed 747 rebounds (sixth in program history), 71 blocks (seventh in program history), 69 assists, and 25 steals. Notably, his junior year saw a standout moment when he was selected for the Division III USA Basketball Team to compete in Brazil.

Husted shares an elite distinction with Marcus Lee (2014-18), the 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete selection, as the only other four-time All-Conference selection since Juniata joined the conference in 2007. Husted earned First Team honors twice (2024, 2023) and Second Team recognition twice (2022, 2021).

Pursuing a pre-med major with an outstanding 3.94 grade point average, Husted has received the M.G Brumbaugh Scholarship, has been listed on the Dean's List six times, and has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.

Beyond his academic and athletic commitments, Husted demonstrated his dedication to both his professional development and community service. He completed a three-year internship with DuBois Dermatology and Cosmetics, specializing in Patient Care, and volunteered as a coach with Division III USA Men's Basketball.
