TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes annually, recognizing student-athletes in each sport, and considering both academic and athletic achievements.

Senior Scholar-Athlete History

These honorees must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are chosen by a committee comprising Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications personnel, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.

Brandon Baxter of Elizabethtown College is this year's Landmark Conference Men's Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete. Baxter was named the 2023 Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athete, and now is the third consecutive Blue Jay to win the award in the outdoor season, following Jalen Belgrave (2023) and Christian Schaff (2022).

Baxter closed out his Landmark Conference outdoor season as the 2024 800m champion, with a time of 1:54.08. This stellar performance complements his second-place finish in the 2022 Landmark Outdoor 800m.

This victory granted him his third Landmark Track & Field All-Conference selection, as he was 2024 Indoor Honorable Mention and 2022 Outdoor Second Team. He is also now eighth all-time at Elizabethtown in the outdoor 800m.

A Biology major on a Pre-Med track, Baxter maintained a 3.97 GPA and was a three-time Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll member. He actively pursued his interest in science, as he was a member of the Pre-Health Society and supported his peers as an academic tutor.
