TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference announced its 2024 Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference Teams and award winners on Tuesday afternoon.
All-Conference selections are determined by performances at the conference championships. Athletes achieving first-place are given First Team status, while those securing second-place finishes earn Second Team recognition, and third-place finishers receive Honorable Mention.
Track Performer of the Year: Brandon Zimmerman (Susquehanna University)
Field Performer of the Year: Tim King (Moravian University)
Rookies of the Year: William Dickson (University of Scranton) & Mason Winslow (Susquehanna University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Susquehanna University
Zimmerman played a crucial role in the River Hawks' fourth consecutive league title win, scoring 36 points. He excelled individually, taking home gold in the 110-meter hurdles and silver in both the 400-meter hurdles and long jump. Additionally, he secured fourth place in the 100-meter dash. Zimmerman's contributions extended to the relay events as well, where he was part of the victorious 4x100 and 4x400 meter teams, with the former setting a new championship time of 41.32, surpassing the previous record set in 2011. He joins a long list of River Hawks to earn Track Performer of the Year, becoming the sixth SU athlete from the men's program.
In all three events he entered, King consistently landed among the top performers. He impressed by winning the hammer throw with a distance of 49.52 meters, earning the Greyhounds 10 points. Following that, he took third place in both the shot put (14.02m) and discus throw (42.85m). King's achievements have now led to him being recognized as the eighth Moravian athlete to receive the Field Athlete of the Year award.
Dickson made a memorable debut at his first collegiate outdoor championship, earning the title of Rookie of the Year as recognition for his outstanding performance. In the 400-meter dash, the first-year athlete not only secured second place but also shattered his program record with a personal-best time of 49.36 seconds, surpassing his previous mark of 49.76 set at the Coach P Invite on Apr. 20. Hailing from Quakertown, Pa., Dickson also showcased his talent by finishing sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.51 and clinching fifth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.38. Dickson becomes the Royals' first-ever recipient of the Rookie of the Year award since the inception of varsity track in 2017-18.
Winslow becomes the third in the past five years to receive the Rookie of the Year title. As a newcomer, he contributed significantly to the team's success, notably as a member of the victorious 4x100-meter relay team alongside Zimmerman. Their remarkable performance shattered both the championship and facility records, clocking in at a season-best 41.32. Winslow also played a pivotal role in the winning 4x400 relay team. On an individual level, he secured a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.55 and placed seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.54.
After clinching their fourth consecutive conference title, head coach Ethan Senecal and the coaching staff of Susquehanna men's track and field were honored with their fourth consecutive Coaching Staff of the Year award. The River Hawks celebrated success with six gold medals, triumphing in events such as the 400m, 110mH, 400mH, long jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus throw. Particularly noteworthy was the record-breaking performance of the SU 4x100 relay team, which broke both the championship and facility records.
