Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the winter season, men's and women's basketball will be announced on Monday, followed by swimming and diving, and indoor track and field on Tuesday.

  • Men's Athlete of the Week: Porter Kelly (Moravian University)
Kelly netted a career best 32 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists, and a career high five steals while hitting five three-pointers, while helping the Greyhounds to a 120-118 double-overtime win at Immaculata University in the Greyhounds' only action of the week.

Women's Athlete of the Week: Makenna Mummert (Elizabethtown College)
Mummert set a new school and conference single-game scoring record with 46 points at Haverford in the Blue Jays' 115-104 double overtime victory. Mummert's 46 came on a career high 15 made shots and 16 made free throws as she became the first player at Etown to record 40 or more in a game in team history. She had 13 points by halftime, 27 by the end of the third quarter, and 35 after the first overtime.

  • Offensive Athlete of the Week: Justin Moore (Wilkes University)
Moore had his best game of the season in the matchup against Western Connecticut State on Saturday. The senior wide receiver caught three passes for 96 yards and one touchdown. He also threw a 36-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter as the Colonels won the game 38-0 over the Wolves to clinch their spot in the Chesapeake Challenge Bowl Series for the third year in a row.

Defensive Athlete of the Week: Khalil Johnson (Lycoming College)
Johnson had eight tackles and a hand in two turnovers in Lycoming's 24-16 win over Juniata. He had a fumble recovery at the 3-yard line to prevent Juniata from gaining a two-score lead in the second quarter. He then read a screen pass and laid out a Juniata running back for a four-yard loss on third down before intercepting the pass on the next play to end Juniata's final drive. Johnson also had a quarterback hurry in the game.

Specialist of the Week: Dominic Bourgeois (Susquehanna University)
Bourgeois was locked in all afternoon, going a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points while adding a pair of field goals, including a 40-yard strike. He also handled kickoff duties, sending eight kicks a total of 505 yards and producing two touchbacks.
