How It Happened

• Scranton dictated tempo from the opening whistle, controlling possession and outshooting the Golden Eagles 24–11 while placing 12 attempts on goal.
• The Royals struck first in the 41st minute when Luke Roberto intercepted a misplaced pass, drove into the box, and tucked home the opener to give Scranton a 1-0 lead at halftime.
• The lead doubled early in the second half. In the 51st minute, Tyler Colton found Matt Capretto at the top of the six-yard box, where Capretto turned and ripped a left-footed shot inside the far post to make it 2-0.
