TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference announced its 2025 Women’s Cross Country All-Conference teams, highlighting standout performances from Saturday’s championship meet. The top seven finishers earn First Team All-Conference honors, the next seven are named to the Second Team, and the following five receive Honorable Mention recognition.
Along with the all-conference selections, the league also unveiled its major award winners. The Performer of the Year is presented to the individual champion, the Rookie of the Year honors the top first-year collegiate runner, and the Coaching Staff of the Year is chosen by the conference’s head coaches following the race.
Performer of the Year: Tara Smurla (Moravian University)
Rookie of the Year: Olivia Sobkowicz (Catholic University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Moravian University
Moravian University senior Tara Smurla was named the Landmark Performer of the Year after an outstanding showing at the 2025 championship meet, finishing first overall and becoming the Greyhounds’ fifth Performer of the Year and their first since 2019. Smurla, who was also named First Team All-Conference for the fourth consecutive year, began her career as Rookie of the Year in 2022 and capped her collegiate career with this top individual honor, running a personal-best 21:26.6 at the championship, which is the fastest mark in the conference this fall and third all-time in Landmark history.
Catholic University freshman Olivia Sobkowicz was recognized as the Landmark Rookie of the Year after a breakout debut season. Sobkowicz placed second overall at the championship with a time of 22:00.47, earning First Team All-Conference honors. She becomes the first member of Catholic’s women’s cross country squad to earn Rookie of the Year since 2006.
The Moravian University coaching staff, led by Director of Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann and assisted by Jon D’Ottavio and Natalie Stabilito, was voted the Landmark Women’s Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year. It marks the third time the Greyhounds have earned the honor and the first since 2013. Baumann and his staff guided Moravian to its third Landmark championship and first in more than a decade.
