Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the fall season, field hockey, football, soccer, and volleyball will be announced on Monday, followed by cross country, swimming and diving, golf, and tennis on Tuesday.

  • Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week: Teddy Tsakumis (Catholic University)
    Tsakumis earned two individual victories for the Cardinals in their 185-77 win over Randolph-Macon. He earned first place in the 100 backstroke with a time or 52.38 and followed up with a win in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 49.31. He was also part of the 200 freestyle relay team that captured first with a time of 1:29.03.

    Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week: Emma Church (Susquehanna University)
    Church led a River Hawks team to a big conference win over Juniata College. She won her first event of the meet, in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 2:06.94, and also won the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 57.89. Finally, she and her team won the entire meet for Susquehanna in the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Church swam last, beating out Juniata to win the meet.
