Catholic’s Emily Moehringer Named Landmark Women’s Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – Catholic University’s Emily Moehringer has been selected as the 2024-25 Landmark Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete.

The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athletes in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

A nursing major with a 3.91 grade point average, Moehringer has excelled in the classroom while being a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection (2023, 2024). She is also a member of the Catholic University Honors Program.

Moehringer has been a standout competitor throughout her career, earning five Landmark Conference Indoor All-Conference selections, including two First Team, two Second Team, and one Honorable Mention recognition. She captured two individual Landmark titles, winning the distance medley relay (DMR) in 2022 and the mile in 2025. Her 2025 conference title in the mile came in record-breaking fashion, as she set a new championship mark with a time of 4:58.52. Additionally, she is part of the 4x400 relay team that set the conference record with a time of 3:56.81 in early February.

On the national stage, Moehringer earned All-America honors in 2024 after placing 13th in the 800 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She is a four-time All-Region selection, earning honors in both the 800 meters and DMR across the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. She also qualified for her second consecutive NCAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship in the mile, which she will compete in on Friday, March 14.

A two-time Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week, Moehringer’s impact extends beyond the track. She has been actively involved in several community service initiatives, including So Others Might Eat, Sacred Heart Dinners, Build On Nicaragua, and Catholic’s MLK & Mother Teresa Day of Service.

Moehringer is the second straight Cardinal to receive the Landmark Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete award, following former teammate Apolline Gaspers in 2024. She is also the third Catholic honoree overall, joining Erin Schlegel (2016).
