TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes annually, recognizing students in each sport and considering both academic and athletic achievements.
These honorees must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are chosen by a committee comprising Landmark Conference officers, athletic directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications personnel, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.
Mike DeMayo of Drew University has been named the Landmark Conference’s 2024-25 Men’s Lacrosse Senior Scholar-Athlete. He is just the second student-athlete in program history to receive the award and the first since Brad Mendelson earned the honor in 2009-10.
A standout on the field, DeMayo leaves behind a decorated career. He is the program’s all-time leader in assists (108) and ranks third in both goals (152) and total points (260). He earned Second Team All-Landmark honors in 2024 and was named Drew’s Male Career Athlete of the Year at the university’s year-end athletics awards.
In the classroom, DeMayo has excelled as a Business major. He is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection (2023, 2024), a three-time Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree, and has earned multiple Dean’s List distinctions at Drew.
Beyond his academic and athletic commitments, DeMayo founded the Instagram account "Holy Athletes" and is an active member of “The Fund,” Drew’s student-run investment club. Professionally, he has served as a Business Development Executive at Legal Advocate Group LLC since 2023 and has worked as a Real Estate Agent for Compass Real Estate since 2022. He has also given back to the sport by coaching with the Manalapan Lacrosse Club since 2019.
