TOWSON, Md. - Landmark Conference student-athletes and coaches turned in standout performances at the 2025-26 Men's Indoor Track & Field championship, with Susquehanna University, Moravian University, and Catholic University claiming top individual and team honors.
Individual awards are nominated and voted on by the league’s head coaches at the conclusion of the conference championship. The Coaching Staff of the Year is also selected by a vote of the league’s head coaches.
All-Conference teams are determined by place finishes at the championship meet: first-place finishers earn First Team honors, second-place finishers earn Second Team, and third-place finishers earn Honorable Mention.
Track Performer of the Year: Calder Diakite (Susquehanna University)
Field Performer of the Year: Jayden Walls (Moravian University)
Rookie of the Year: Michael Brunet (Catholic University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Susquehanna University
Diakite capped an outstanding indoor season by winning the 200m dash in 22.53 and the 60m hurdles in 8.10. His hurdle time tied the Landmark Conference record and broke the championship meet record of 8.16, previously set by former River Hawk Joey Masser in 2023. The Landmark record was originally established by Ozzie Brown of Moravian University during the league’s inaugural season in 2008. At the time of publication, Diakite’s 8.10 ranks 11th nationally in Division III. His recognition as Track Performer of the Year continues Susquehanna’s tradition of individual honors. Since the first championship in 2008, a River Hawk has earned Track, Field, or Rookie of the Year every season except 2014. Diakite becomes the eighth River Hawk to receive Track Performer of the Year and the second straight, joining former teammate Brandon Zimmerman.
Walls made an immediate impact in the field, earning Field Performer of the Year honors in his first season. He became the first first-year student-athlete to receive this award since Susquehanna’s Chris Petraskie and is the second straight Greyhound to claim the honor, joining current teammate Anthony Morillo. Walls is the eighth Moravian student-athlete to be named Field Performer of the Year. He captured the gold medal in the long jump with a leap of 6.60 meters and also finished fifth in the high jump at 1.87 meters.
After being named the 2025 Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year, Brunet carried his momentum into indoor track & field to earn Rookie of the Year honors. He is the first rookie to receive the award since CeeJa Beckett in 2019 and the third overall in Landmark Conference history. Brunet won the mile at the championship, setting a new meet record with a time of 4:17.56, breaking the previous mark set by Donnie Noble of Moravian University in 2012. He also finished third in the 3,000-meter run, earning Honorable Mention honors.
Led by Ethan Senecal, who earned his fifth straight Coaching Staff of the Year honor, and assisted by Ryan Weir, Ryan McGuire, Keefer Goodspeed, Justin Showstead, Chloe Yoder, Matthew Adami, Brandon Zimmerman, and Rebecca Heuler, the Susquehanna coaching staff guided the River Hawks to their sixth overall indoor championship title and fifth straight. The team finished the meet with 191.3 points, earning 14 medals, six gold, six silver, and two bronze, and saw one record-breaking performance from Calder Diakite.
