Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the winter season, men's and women's basketball will be announced on Monday, followed by swimming and diving, and indoor track and field on Tuesday.

  • Men's Athlete of the Week: Austin Finarelli (Elizabethtown College)
    Senior guard Austin Finarelli powered his team through a strong week with standout performances against Drew and Scranton. In a win over Drew, Finarelli poured in 28 points, shooting 9-for-16 from the field and 9-for-13 from the free throw line, while adding seven assists and two steals. He followed with 24 points against Scranton, going 8-for-16 from the floor and 6-for-8 at the line, along with four assists and three steals. Across the two games, Finarelli averaged 26.0 points while efficiently leading the offense and contributing on the defensive end as well. The two victories were crucial, keeping the team firmly in playoff contention as they head into the final stretch of the season.     Women's Athlete of the Week: Kaci Kranson (University of Scranton)
    Senior guard Kaci Kranson led Scranton to a dominant 2-0 week in Landmark Conference play with wins over Moravian (81-47) and Elizabethtown (88-48), as the Lady Royals remained unbeaten overall and in conference action. Averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in just 24.5 minutes per game, Kranson shot 66.7 percent (16-for-24) from the field and 83.3 percent (10-for-12) from the line. She posted 22 points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes against Moravian, going 6-for-6 from the foul line, then followed with 23 points and eight rebounds against Elizabethtown, shooting 9-for-12 to secure Scranton’s second decisive conference victory of the week.
