Romanowski Recognized as Women's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athletes in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

The University of Scranton’s Kaeli Romanowski has been recognized as the Landmark Conference Women’s Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete. She is the fifth Lady Royal to receive this honor, joining Kathleen Daly (2008), Meredith Mesaris (2015), Sarah Payonk (2017), and Bridgette Mann (2019).

Romanowski established herself as one of Scranton’s best players, currently ranking fifth in the nation for steals (111) and third in the nation for assist-to-turnover ratio (3.81). Not only is she an impactful player on the court, but she also excels off the court, maintaining an impressive 3.97 grade point average as a Finance major.

Romanowski helped lead the Lady Royals to three Landmark Conference Championships (2024, 2025, 2026). She was named First Team All-Conference this season, marking her third All-Conference honor after earning First Team as a sophomore and Second Team as a junior. To add on to her resume, she earned Landmark Defensive Player of the Year in 2024 & 2026, leading one of the best defensive units in the country, ranking first in the NCAA  for scoring defense.

Romanowski’s academic excellence mirrors her performance on the court. She has been named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection twice (2024, 2025), highlighting her commitment to balancing athletics with academics.

Beyond athletics and academics, Romanowski has demonstrated strong leadership and service, serving as the 2025-26 season team captain. She has also been active in professional and leadership development through Future Business Leaders of America, where she managed internal communications to improve member engagement and event participation through timely updates and reminders. She helped plan and execute fundraising initiatives, community service projects, and competitive preparation, increasing the chapter’s visibility and success. Through targeted outreach and social media initiatives, Romanowski also contributed to chapter growth by recruiting new members and expanding FBLA’s presence.

Her work with FBLA also produced competitive success, earning first place in Parliamentary Procedure at both the 2025 State Leadership Conference and the 2025 National Leadership Conference.
