SCRANTON, Pa. - The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament with a thrilling 15-14 overtime victory over Maritime College on Wednesday afternoon at Weiss Field.
- With the win, Scranton advances to the second round of the tournament and will travel to Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, for a second-round matchup on Saturday, May 9, at 12:00 p.m.

How It Happened
- Scranton struck first as Brendan Donohue finished a feed from Cooper Roberts just over two minutes into the game, but Maritime answered with four straight goals to take a 4-1 lead after the first quarter.
- Kyle Holmes opened the second-quarter scoring with an unassisted goal before Jason Kozak scored off a Donohue assist to cut the deficit to 4-3.
- After Maritime extended the lead back to two, Chase Ritcey scored just 12 seconds later and added another goal off a Thomas Popolizio assist to tie the game at 5-5 with 3:35 remaining in the half.

- Thomas McCarvill and Donohue traded goals midway through the quarter before Nick Uzakewicz gave Maritime a 14-13 lead with 8:12 remaining.
- With 1:32 left in regulation, Holmes scored off a Donohue assist to force overtime.
- Scranton's defense came up with a key stop to open overtime, giving the Royals possession before Quinn Carson delivered the game-winning goal to send the Royals into the NCAA second round.
