TOWSON, Md. – Drew University indoor track & field student-athlete Emily Camlet has been named a finalist for the Landmark Conference Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an honor recognizing graduating seniors who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service throughout their collegiate careers. The league’s overall Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be selected from four finalists and submitted for consideration for the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Camlet excelled across multiple areas during her time at Drew, pursuing a double major in Italian and Statistics with a minor in Dance while maintaining a perfect 4.00 grade point average. She helped establish the Rangers' track & field program following its introduction in 2023-24 and became Drew's first Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete in track & field.
On the track, Camlet enjoyed success during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. She captured three Landmark indoor titles in the 400 meters and earned four indoor All-Landmark selections while establishing conference records in the event.
During the 2026 outdoor season, she was named the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track Performer of the Year, earned two First Team All-Conference honors, garnered All-Region recognition, and finished 13th nationally in the 400 meters to secure Second Team All-America honors. Camlet also set the Landmark Conference record in the outdoor 400 meters and the conference championship meet record in the event.
In addition to track & field, she competed for Drew's women's soccer team from 2022-24 and joined the Rangers' cross country team in 2025.
Academically, Camlet was a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection and earned multiple Landmark Academic Honor Roll recognitions. A Francis Asbury Scholar, Drew University's highest academic honor, she was also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, Pi Mu Epsilon, and Gamma Kappa Alpha while earning Dean's List recognition every semester.
Beyond competition and academics, Camlet served as president of the Drew University Cultural Italian American Organization, participated in the University's Dance Company, and represented her teams on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She mentored incoming student-athletes through the Peer Mentor Program and founded "Bracelets for Alzheimer's," a charitable initiative benefiting the Alzheimer's Association. Camlet also worked professionally with the Bridget Ryan Dance Company and served as a substitute teacher in North Brunswick Township Schools.
The overall Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be announced on Thursday, July 9.
