TOWSON, Md. - As the Landmark Conference counts down to the start of the 2026-27 academic year, the Conference will revisit some of the best stories from its member institutions through the Landmark Rewind series.
Running August 3-14, Landmark Rewind will spotlight one Landmark institution each weekday by featuring two stories originally produced by that school's athletics department. From student-athlete features and championship moments to community impact and campus initiatives, the series gives fans another opportunity to discover the people and programs that make the Landmark Conference special before fall competition begins.
The University of Scranton athletics department produced a historic 2025–26 campaign, capturing nine Landmark Conference championships, the most by any school in conference history.
The Royals won titles in field hockey, women’s soccer, women’s swimming and diving, women’s indoor track and field, women’s basketball, women’s outdoor track and field, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, and baseball.
The achievement highlights the depth and consistency of Scranton’s programs across all three athletic seasons.
From fall through spring, Scranton teams consistently performed at a championship level. Early success in field hockey and women’s soccer set the tone, while women’s basketball and women’s swimming and diving powered a strong winter stretch alongside women’s indoor track and field.
The momentum continued into spring with championships in women’s outdoor track and field, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and baseball.
Scranton also captured the Landmark Conference Presidents Cup Trophy, awarded through a formula that rewards institutions for regular season standings and postseason performance in conference play.
"Winning nine conference championships and capturing the Presidents Cup Trophy is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff," said Executive Director of Athletics Dave Martin. "This historic year reflects the culture of excellence that exists across our department. We take great pride in the way our teams competed, represented The University of Scranton, and supported one another throughout the year. To set a new conference record for championships is a remarkable achievement and one that our entire University community can celebrate."
The record-setting year reflects a culture of sustained excellence built on strong coaching, development, and competitive drive.
With nine championships and the Presidents Cup Trophy, Scranton has established a new standard in the Landmark Conference and elevated expectations across its entire athletics department.
