TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.
During the spring, baseball, softball, and lacrosse will be announced on Mondays, followed by golf, tennis, and outdoor track and field on Tuesdays.
Baseball Athlete: Danny DeLucas (Lycoming College)
Went 8-for-10 with three runs, two doubles, and four RBI to help Lycoming sweep Hobart. He also added three walks and was hit by a pitch for a .857 on-base percentage. DeLucas notched a 1.000 slugging percentage while going 2-for-4 with three runs, an RBI, and a double in an 11-10 win over Hobart on Saturday. He went a perfect 6-for-6 with two walks in the doubleheader sweep, adding two RBI in game one and one in game two.
Baseball Pitcher: Hunter Ralston (University of Scranton)
Ralston allowed just one run on two hits and fanned three over six strong innings as the Royals remained unbeaten on the season with a 5-1 victory over Gettysburg on Sunday. After allowing the one run in the first inning, Ralston settled down and retired the next 15 batters.
Men's Lacrosse Offensive: James Dugan (Goucher College)
Dugan scored seven goals and added an assist in Goucher's 14-11 win at Lebanon Valley on Saturday. He also added two goals and an assist in Wednesday's win at Hood.
Men's Lacrosse Defensive: Joseph Marino (Wilkes University)
Marino helped Wilkes to a 1-1 week in non-conference play as he totaled 34 saves, a .667 save percentage, and an 8.18 goals-against-average. During an 11-8 win for the Colonels on Wednesday at Marywood University, the senior made 14 saves and added four ground balls. Marino converted 20 saves and had three ground balls during a 9-8 double overtime loss to Utica University on Saturday.
Women's Lacrosse Offensive: Alexa Baldwin (Lycoming College)
Baldwin set a program record with 13 points in a 21-15 win over Buffalo State, notching four goals and nine assists in the win. The nine assists are the second-most in program history, and the nine assists and 13 points are both current Landmark season-highs. She started the game by assisting on the first three goals and had a goal and four assists in the first quarter, two goals and an assist in the second, a goal and an assist in the third, and three assists in the fourth quarter.
Women's Lacrosse Defensive: Sydney Lewis (Goucher College)
Goucher College junior goalkeeper Sydney Lewis made eight saves in Goucher's 12-5 win over previously unbeaten Ferrum College on Saturday.
Softball Athlete: Ajala Elmore (Moravian University)
Elmore led No. 6 Moravian at the plate in a 2-3 week at the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Georgia to start the 2024 season. Elmore hit .583, going 7-for-12, with three runs, two doubles, a homer and three RBI. She had a .538 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage, and Elmore had eight putouts and 10 assists in 22 chances in the field. She collected at least one hit in four of the Hounds' five games, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the season-opening 10-4 victory versus No. 21 Central (Iowa) College. Elmore was also 2-for-2 with a homer in a 5-2 win over Illinois Wesleyan University.
Softball Pitcher: Juliana Janezic (University of Scranton)
Janezic tossed a complete game shutout in her collegiate debut as the Royals blanked Ithaca by a 4-0 score in game two of a doubleheader on Sunday. The freshman hurler scattered just two hits and struck out one over her seven innings of work.
