Christodoulou Receives Women's Tennis Senior Scholar-Athlete Honors

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes annually, recognizing student-athletes in each sport, and considering academic and athletic achievements.

Senior Scholar-Athlete History

These honorees must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are chosen by a committee comprising Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications personnel, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.

Drew University's Melina Christodoulou has been named the 2023-24 Women's Tennis Senior Scholar-Athlete. She is the first Ranger to win the award.

Christodoulou's finished with a career record of 34-20 in singles, and 40-19 in doubles. Her 34 singles and 40 doubles wins are T-8th and T-3rd in career wins in school history respectively. 

Christodoulou's name is etched in Landmark Conference history, as her Rangers squads won three Landmark Conference titles (2022, 2023, 2024). Individually, Christodoulou was First Team All-Conference all four years and was named Landmark Conference Player of the Year in 2024. She was also a stellar track & field athlete, receiving Honorable Mention for her 3rd place finish in the high jump this season.

Maintaining a 3.7 GPA, Christodoulou made the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll in volleyball (2022) and women's tennis (2022, 2023), and served as President of Student Government.

She is the 2024 Recipient of Drew's Harry Simester Character Award, which annually goes to a senior student who gives spirit, dedication, and energy to the athletic program, and becomes a role model that helps their team drive to excel.
