Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

During the fall season, field hockey, football, soccer, and volleyball will be announced on Monday, followed by cross country, golf, and tennis on Tuesday.

  • Men: Bryan Kerchner (Moravian University)
    Bryan Kerchner placed third out of 188 runners at the Lebanon Valley College Invitational, clocking 25:26.7 on the 8,000-meter course, which will host the Landmark Conference Championship in November. Moravian secured third place overall among 17 teams.

    Women: Tara Smurla (Moravian University)
    Tara Smurla secured second place among 197 runners at the Lebanon Valley College Invitational with a time of 18:22.7 on the 5,000-meter course. The Greyhounds finished second out of 19 schools in preparation for the Landmark Conference Championship at the same venue in November.

  • Lauren Wright (Catholic University)
    Lauren Wright led Catholic to a third-place finish at the Shenandoah Invitational, finishing third individually. Wright shot rounds of 78 and 77, finishing just one stroke shy of second place in a competitive field. Her performance was highlighted by three birdies, two of which came during Sunday’s round.
