Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the spring season, baseball, softball, and lacrosse will be announced on Monday, followed by golf, tennis, and outdoor track and field on Tuesday.

  • Men's Golf Athlete of the Week: Eilliot Parker (Drew University) 
    Parker tied for fifth among 120 golfers to lead the Rangers to the team title among 24 teams at the 53rd annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate. He fired a 2-under-par 214 (71-71-72) for the 54-hole course, one stroke shy of his own school record relative to par, and shot 14 birdies.

    Women's Golf Athlete of the Week: Cailyn Schall (Susquehanna University)
    Schall won the Susquehanna Spring Invitational Saturday, scoring a 76 as the River Hawks won their home invite with a 344 score, winning by two strokes. Throughout the course, Schall carded a team high of two birdies and eight pars.

  • Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week: Gavin Labbadia (Moravian University)
    Labbadia had a 3-0 mark during the week at singles action, winning at second singles in a 7-0 win at Wilkes University, at fourth singles in a 5-2 victory versus Goucher College, and at third singles in a 6-1 loss to TCNJ. Labbadia's win versus Goucher clinched the victory, the first for the Hounds over the Gophers since 2014, snapping a 14-match losing streak that included 10 regular-season and four postseason contests. Labbadia teamed with sophomore Roman Farhad for a 2-1 record at second doubles during the week as well.

    Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week: Sarah Crawford (University of Scranton)
    Crawford delivered a dominant week for The University of Scranton women’s tennis team, helping lead the Royals to a pair of Landmark Conference victories over Drew University (6-1) and Elizabethtown College (7-0). Competing at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, Crawford was flawless across both matches. In singles play, she did not drop a game, posting back-to-back 6-0, 6-0 victories over her opponents. In doubles action alongside Gisele Falzone, she helped anchor a perfect week at the top spot, earning a 6-1 win against Drew and a 6-0 victory against Elizabethtown.

     

  • Men's Track Athlete of the Week: Colson Lewis (Juniata College)
    Lewis earned a second-place finish in the 200m at the Messiah Invite this past week, clocking a time of 22.03. He also posted a 10.60 in the 100m, a mark that currently ties for 41st in Division III. 

    Men's Field Athlete of the Week: Zach Mogambi (Drew University)
    Mogambi won the discus and placed third in the shot put to lead the Rangers at the Bill Butler Invitational. Facing Division II and III competition, he launched a season-best throw of 47.61 meters (156-2) in the discus. His throw ranks first in the Landmark Conference and 39th on the current Division III performance list. Mogambi also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 14.09 meters (46-2 3/4), making him the top Division III finisher in the event by nearly six feet.

    Women's Track Athlete of the Week: Emma Shafnisky (Moravian University)
    Shafnisky won the 100-meter hurdles at the Messiah University Invitational with a school record and All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying time of 14.67 seconds in the finals after running 15.00 seconds in the preliminaries. This mark ties her 26th nationals, and puts her second in the Landmark top-10 for the 100m. She also ran a leg of the Greyhounds winning 4x100-meter relay team with an AARTFC qualifying time of 49.46 seconds.

    Women's Field Athlete of the Week: Molly White (University of Scranton)
    White delivered a historic, record-breaking performance to lead The University of Scranton at the Susquehanna Multi, competing against a field spanning all three NCAA divisions. White won the heptathlon with a program-record 4,850 points, surpassing her own previous mark by over 100 points, which not only set a new Landmark Conference record, but also ranks her third nationally. She added another program record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.09. Her dominant all-around effort included first-place finishes in the 800 meters (2:17.21) and javelin throw (35.66m), along with runner-up finishes in the 100-meter hurdles and 200 meters (26.16). She also placed third in the long jump (5.31m) and cleared 1.58 meters in the high jump.
