NEW ORLEANS – All-Region honorees for the 2025 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were recognized on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following Regional Championships Saturday. Athletes earned All-Region distinction by virtue of a top-35 finish at one of the ten regional sites this past weekend. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions are eligible for awards.
A total of seven Landmark Women's Cross Country student-athletes were recognized.
Catholic University: Laurel McMahon & Olivia Sobkowicz
McMahon raced a 6k personal-best of 22:15.4 with her 13th place finish as the second Cardinal to cross the finish line. This is the first time in her career that she has received All-Region honors. The junior earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors earlier this year.
Sobkowicz finished fourth overall with a personal-best 6k time of 21:56.2 at the NCAA South Region Championships. This is the first time in her career that she has received All-Region honors. Sobkowicz has had an impressive season so far, earning Landmark Rookie of the Year honors and a position on the Landmark All-Conference First Team.
Moravian University: Tara Smurla, Meghan Myers, Kate Veivia, Kierstyn Klinger
Tara Smurla placed first of 192 competitors with a PR time of 21:11.4 on the 6,000-meter course to garner All-Region honors for the fourth straight season. Smurla qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships for the third consecutive fall with her second straight regional title. Senior Meghan Myers earned All-Region for the first time as she finished 13th in a PR time of 22:28.7, while freshman Kate Veivia garnered All-Region in her debut season with a 29th finish and PR time of 22:58.1. Junior Kierstyn Klingner received her first All-Region honor as she took 24th in a PR time of 23:04.3.
University of Scranton: Emily Hopkins
Emily Hopkins earned her first All-Region award after placing 27th with a time of 22:39.12 pacing Scranton to a 14th-place team finish.
