Bourgeois Named First Team All-American by AFCA

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The lore of Susquehanna kicker Dominic Bourgeois' junior season grew even more with Wednesday's announcement of the American Football Coaches Association's (AFCA) Division III All-American list, placing Bourgeois as their First Team selection at placekicker.

AFCA Release

As the River Hawks' full-time placekicker, punter, and kickoff specialist this fall, Bourgeois has excelled in all three roles. His field goal scoring has been the bright spot, setting a school record at 19-of-19 on the season, which leads all Division III placekickers this season. A six-time Landmark Conference Specialist of the Week, Bourgeois' highlights include making four field goals in two games. These efforts proved useful, as they allowed Susquehanna to run away with a 33-14 win over Union in the season opener, followed by a 26-3 victory against Wilkes to clinch the Landmark title. He is 5-for-5 on field goals of 40 or more yards, most recently setting a new career long of 45 yards for Susquehanna's first three points in their 29-0 win over Eastern in the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament. Bourgeois, a Baltimore native, and the River Hawks have a date at Johns Hopkins this Saturday in the Quarterfinals round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship, kicking off at 12 noon.

Bourgeois' trophy case includes being named a Semifinalist for the Fred Mitchell Award, which recognizes the nation's most accomplished placekicker across FCS and NCAA Divisions II and III. He was named a First Team All-Landmark selection at placekicker, as well as D3football.com's First Team All-Region 2 selection. Since taking over as the team's placekicker halfway through his sophomore season in 2024, Bourgeois has connected on 24-of-24 field goals, making all five of his attempts during the team's Final Four run in 2024, including the game-winner to defeat Saint John's (Minn.) in the NCAA Third Round game.
