Fini of Drew Field Hockey Named NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Freshman forward Bella Fini has been recognized once again for her outstanding play last week, but this time at the national level.

Fini, who on Monday was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, was selected as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday.

Fini turned in a nine-point week, pouring in four goals and one assist over a pair of victories for the Rangers. In a 3-2 overtime victory at Eastern University last Wednesday, she scored all three of her team's goals, including the game-winner six minutes into the extra session – good for her second hat trick in three games. She also posted one goal and one assist in Drew's 3-0 win over FDU-Florham this past Saturday.

For the season, Fini has racked up 21 points on nine goals and three assists. She leads the Landmark Conference in points and is tied for the conference lead in goals.

The Rangers (6-1), off to their best start since 2013, continue their schedule on Wednesday, when they visit Western Connecticut State University at 7 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
