Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the winter season, men's and women's basketball will be announced on Monday, followed by swimming and diving, and indoor track and field on Tuesday.

  • Men's Athlete of the Week: Brian Herbert (Catholic University)
Herbert averaged 22 points and 4.5 rebounds over two games last week in a 2-0 week for Catholic. He scored 22 points, while going 7-for-13 from the field with five rebounds and a pair of assists to start the week against Moravian. He once again scored 22, combined with four rebounds, two blocks, and went a perfect 10-for-10 at the charity stripe in the Cardinals' win over Drew.

Women's Athlete of the Week: Kaci Kranson (University of Scranton)
Kranson helped No. 2-ranked Lady Royals to a pair of Landmark Conference victories last week against two opponents receiving votes in national polls. She averaged 20.5 points per game as Scranton remained unbeaten. Kranson opened the week with 19 points, eight rebounds, a block, and a steal in a 59-50 win over Elizabethtown, then followed with a game-high 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting and three steals in a 79-57 victory over Susquehanna at The Palestra. She shot 51.6 percent from the field over the two games and played a key role on both ends of the floor as Scranton improved to 13-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
