Men's Athlete of the Week: Marquis Ratcliff (Moravian University)
Ratcliff averaged 22.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in a 3-0 week for the Greyhounds, and he was selected as the MVP of the 45th Steel Club Classic. Ratcliff shot 25-for-47, 7-of-18 from beyond the three-point line, and 11-for-15 at the foul line, to go along with six blocked shots, four assists, and two steals while playing 88 of 120 minutes in the three contests. He began the week with 13 points, seven rebounds, and a blocked shot in 27 minutes of action in the Hounds' 113-92 win over FDU-Florham, and posted 23 points, nine boards, three assists, and a pair of blocked shots in 30 minutes in the championship game, an 81-79 last-second win over Ursinus College. He finished the week with 32 points, nine boards, and three blocked shots in Moravian's 99-81 victory over Lancaster Bible.
Women's Athlete of the Week: Yamirelis Matos (Wilkes University) Matos stamped her name in the record books during Winter Break for the Colonels. The senior guard averaged 18.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game across three games, with her best game coming against Kenyon College in Puerto Rico. In that game, Matos finished with 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals on 6-12 shooting from the field and 10-14 shooting from the free throw line to lead the team to a 72-62 win. However, the high point during this stretch was eclipsing 1,000 career points with a 14-point performance against Eastern, becoming the 13th player in program history to reach the milestone.
