Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week: Jacob Morgan (Goucher College)
Morgan continues to play a key role in the Gophers offense, recording 22 points over two conference matchups last week. Against Lycoming, Morgan added six goals, six assists, while also adding three ground balls. In the matchup against Juniata, he added four goals and six assists while causing five turnovers. With 10 points against the Eagles, Morgan surpassed 300 career points, continuing to set the career points record for both the school and conference.
Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week: Josh Steinmiller (Goucher College)
Steinmiller posted a strong performance for the Gophers over this last week. In a win against Lycoming, he logged 40:14 in goal, recording eight saves, with a .889 save percentage. He followed that effort with another strong showing in a win over Juniata, playing three quarters and tallying 11 saves with an impressive .917 save percentage. Across the two victories, Steinmiller also contributed four ground balls.
Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week: Eileen Hewitt (University of Scranton)
Hewitt led the University of Scranton women’s lacrosse offense during a 2-0 week. She totaled 13 points on six goals and seven assists across the two contests, highlighted by an eight-point performance against Moravian with four goals and four assists. She followed that with a five-point outing in the win over Catholic, scoring twice and adding three assists. The junior was highly efficient offensively, placing 10 of her 13 shots on goal (.769 SOG%), while also contributing across the field with three ground balls, one caused turnover, and a dominant 15 draw controls.
Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week: Eva Guerino (University of Scranton)
Guerino led The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team to a 2-0 week with Landmark Conference victories over Moravian (14-8) and Catholic (10-4). Guerino was a steady presence in the net, facing 47 shots totaling 18 saves while allowing just 12 goals across 120 minutes of action. She recorded nine saves in each contest, including a strong performance in the win over Catholic, where she held the Cardinals to just four goals.
