Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the spring season, baseball, softball, and lacrosse will be announced on Monday, followed by golf, tennis, and outdoor track and field on Tuesday.

  • Baseball Athlete of the Week: Nick Reeder (Lycoming College)
    Reeder had four multi-hit games for the Warriors during the week, hitting .600 (9-for-15) and posting a 1.633 OPS. In the first game of the Drew series, he went 2-for-3, which included a run, a double, and a stolen base. In the first game of the doubleheader against Drew, he went 3-for-4 with two runs, a double, and an RBI. He closed the week with a 2-for-4 effort that included two runs, a home run, and four RBI in the final game against Drew, highlighted by a go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth inning.

    Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Jake Wilber (Lycoming College)
    Wilber delivered a strong performance, pitching eight innings, which included four scoreless, while allowing just four hits and no earned runs in an 8–6 win over Drew. He threw 103 pitches, struck out a career-high seven batters, and walked two, leaving the game with an 8–2 lead

  • Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week: Jacob Morgan (Goucher College) 
    Morgan led the Gophers to a 20-13 victory over Wilkes. In the contest, Morgan had a hand in half of the team's goals, recording four goals and six assists, while scooping up one ground ball. With this performance, Morgan broke the school and Landmark record of 273 points, currently sitting at 283 with five games left to play in the regular season.

    Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week: Colton Manorek (Catholic University)
    Manorek had another great week in goal, leading the Cardinal defense in Catholic's 17-6 win over Drew. He had 10 saves and scooped up three ground balls in his 53 minutes of play, helping secure the win against the Rangers. He currently has 115 saves this season with a save percentage of .575.

    Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week: Camden West (Goucher College)
    West played a key role in the Gophers' offense in their 2-0 week. Against Wilkes, West recorded three points off two goals and one assist. In the dominant 21-3 win over Bryn Mawr, West had a hand in six of the goals, scoring five and assisting on one. In both contests, she was almost perfect in shots on goal, going 100% against the Colonels and 85.7% (6 for 7) against the Owls.

    Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week: Kelly Bunnick (Catholic University)
    Bunnick had another stellar week for the Cardinals, where she totaled eight caused turnovers and six ground balls. In their first match-up against nationally-ranked Rowan, Bunnick had three caused turnovers and three ground balls. In the Landmark victory over Drew, the Catholic defense held the Rangers to just eight goals. Bunnick had five caused turnovers and three ground balls. 

  • Softball Athlete of the Week: Hana Cross (Wilkes University) 
    Cross was the best hitter on the Colonels last week, going 5-for-11 at the plate for a .455 batting average in four games against Widener and Elizabethtown. In Wilkes’ doubleheader against the Pride, Cross hit three home runs for a total of six RBIs. One of those home runs was a go-ahead, three-run blast in the seventh inning of game one to help the Colonels secure a 5-3 comeback victory. Against the Blue Jays, Cross went 2-for-5 and added a run over the series. 

    Softball Pitcher of the Week: Kyra Holtje (Moravian University) 
    Holtje tossed a pair of shutouts and allowed just eight hits and no walks to go with nine strikeouts in a 4-0 week for the Greyhounds. Holtje scattered two hits to go with eight strikeouts in a 1-0 win at Alvernia University, and she earned an 8-0, five-inning victory at Susquehanna University as she allowed six hits and had one strikeout. On the other side of the ball, Holtje also hit .538 for the week (7-for-13) with five runs, a double, three stolen bases, and four RBIs, and she added one putout and three assists in four chances in the field.
