Elliot Schott of Moravian Named Inaugural FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award Finalist

AUSTIN, Texas – Elliot Schott, Assistant Director of Athletic Digital Media & Content Creation at Moravian University, was recently named a finalist for the inaugural FloSports FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award.

The award celebrates communicators and CSC staff who go above and beyond to elevate their student-athletes, athletic programs, and institutions through strategic storytelling, advocacy, and a commitment to excellence. The award highlights individuals who set the standard in the profession by building meaningful relationships, producing impactful content, enhancing broadcast quality, navigating crises with professionalism, and championing the achievements of those they serve.

"It is an honor to be chosen as a finalist for this award," said Schott. "My first year at Moravian has been so exciting and rewarding. I have always had a passion for sports and media, and I am so grateful to be able to make that into a career. Working with the Landmark has been such a great experience, and I could not be more thankful for the mentors I have gotten to work with this year. Katie, Sarah, Mark, Christine, Mary Beth, Brynn, and Rebecca, to name a few, put their faith in me this year, and I could not have done this without them."

Since joining Moravian, Elliot has elevated the athletic department's digital and social media presence by producing engaging content that highlights the accomplishments and personalities of Moravian student-athletes. Through photography, videography, and social storytelling, she helped strengthen connections between student-athletes, alumni, families, fans, and the campus community.

Her impact is reflected in the continued social media growth across all platforms. Since June 2025, Moravian's Instagram has grown from 5,852 to 7,795 followers, Facebook from 4,610 to 5,067, and X from 4,355 to 4,579. She also helped launch Moravian Athletics' TikTok account, growing it from zero to 972 followers in under a year.

"Elliot has been a tremendous addition to our staff at Moravian since we added the digital media/content creation position last summer, and her passion for sports and media has shown through immensely," stated Director of Athletic Communications Mark Fleming. "We had some expectations for the position when Elliot started; however, she blew past what we thought we needed and wanted. Especially through her video work, Elliot has helped the engagement on our social media channels to expand greatly, in some cases by more than 30 percent, in addition to creating a TikTok account that has been very successful. Elliot's work with the Landmark Conference during the Basketball Gameday at The Palestra and the swimming championships helped promote the conference, and a few of her videos were also shared by FloCollege throughout the year. We are excited to see what the next year brings as Elliot continues to expand on our content and social media."

"I am thrilled to see Elliot get recognized as a finalist for the inaugural FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award," echoed Moravian Director of Athletics, Rebecca May. "Her dedication to promoting our student-athletes and telling the story of Moravian Athletics has made a tremendous impact on our department."

She consistently brought creativity and energy to major events. During the Landmark Conference Basketball Gameday at the historic Palestra, she produced reel recaps from each game that generated more than 10,000 views per reel, expanding engagement and showcasing the energetic atmosphere. Her coverage elevated not only Moravian Athletics but also the visibility of the Landmark Conference on a major stage.

She also served as lead videographer at the Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, helping bring increased attention to a sport that often receives limited coverage. Through athlete-focused storytelling and recap videos, she enhanced the championship experience for student-athletes and families. A standout piece featured the Special Olympics swim clinic hosted alongside the championship, capturing meaningful interaction between student-athletes and participants and highlighting community engagement.

"Elliot is truly fantastic. In a very short time, she has become someone our conference can count on to bring creativity, energy, and a fresh perspective to every project she touches. Her work has elevated not only Moravian Athletics, but Landmark Conference championships and special events as well," stated Landmark Commissioner Katie Boldvich. "What stands out most is her ability to connect people to the stories behind the competition and make student-athletes feel seen and celebrated. This recognition is a reflection of the impact she has already made, and I look forward to watching her continue to elevate both Moravian Athletics and the Landmark Conference for years to come."

Schott will receive a $500 award and will be eligible for the grand prize of $5,000. The grand prize winner will be announced at NACDA and celebrated at a FloCollege reception on June 9 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

"We wouldn't be able to operate without the contributions of these finalists and the many deserving nominees who were considered for this recognition," said John Turner, VP & GM of FloCollege. "It's impossible to read through more than 100 nominations and not feel inspired by the passion, creativity, and dedication these communicators bring to their work every day. While only a handful could be named finalists, the submissions made one thing clear: college athletics is stronger because of the professionals who work behind the scenes to tell stories, promote student-athletes, and elevate their institutions."
