Landmark Returns to Historic Palestra for Fifth Annual Gameday

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference will return to Philadelphia’s historic Palestra for its fifth annual Landmark Conference Gameday, bringing together four men’s and women’s basketball matchups at one of the most iconic venues in college basketball during its 100th anniversary season.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, January 10, with eight conference programs set to take the court inside the University of Pennsylvania’s historic arena.

The 2027 Gameday at the Palestra will feature the following matchups:

Women’s Basketball
12:00 p.m. - Catholic University vs Drew University
5:00 p.m. - Juniata College vs Goucher College

Men’s Basketball
2:30 p.m. - Wilkes University vs Elizabethtown College
7:30 p.m. - University of Scranton vs Susquehanna University

The conference first brought its basketball programs to the Palestra in 2023, after the league’s Directors of Athletics unanimously approved the initiative to enhance the student-athlete experience. What began as an opportunity to compete in one of the nation’s most storied arenas has become a signature Landmark event and an annual tradition.

“Gameday at the Palestra has become one of my favorite Landmark traditions, and I’m thrilled that we have the opportunity to continue it. There is something special about bringing our student-athletes to a venue with the history and tradition of the Palestra, and over the last several years, we’ve been able to make this event uniquely ours,” stated Landmark Commissioner Katie Boldvich. “To return for a fifth year is exciting on its own, but to do so during the Palestra’s 100th anniversary season makes 2027 even more special. We’re incredibly grateful to Penn for continuing to welcome the Landmark and allowing our student-athletes, coaches and fans to be part of such a significant moment in the history of this iconic venue.”

Known as the “Cathedral of College Basketball,” the Palestra opened its doors on January 1, 1927, and is celebrating its 100th anniversary during the 2026-27 academic year. The historic venue has hosted countless memorable games, legendary players, and championship events throughout its century of history and remains one of the most recognizable venues in college basketball.

Additional information regarding tickets, streaming, and event details will be announced at a later date.
