Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the fall season, field hockey, football, soccer, and volleyball will be announced on Monday, followed by cross country, golf, and tennis on Tuesday.

  • Offensive Athlete of the Week: Karine Johnson (Drew)
    Karine Johnson delivered a clutch offensive performance, scoring three goals to help Drew go 2-0 on the week. Johnson opened the week with two goals in the Rangers’ 5-4 double-overtime victory at FDU-Florham, scoring both of her goals in the fourth quarter to twice pull Drew even. Johnson followed with another decisive performance in Drew’s 1-0 victory over Goucher in the Rangers’ Landmark Conference opener, scoring the game’s lone goal early in the second quarter. Her three goals played a key role in securing a pair of victories for the Rangers.

    Defensive Athlete of the Week: Ruby Sorber (Scranton)
    Sophomore goalkeeper Ruby Sorber anchored Scranton’s defense in a 1-0 victory over Susquehanna in the Landmark Conference opener on Saturday. Sorber made eight saves to preserve the shutout, recording her fourth clean sheet of the season. Sorber also delivered a standout performance against Vassar, making 11 saves through double overtime against the defending Liberty League champions in a hard-fought contest.
     

  • Offensive Athlete of the Week: Avery Koser (Moravian)
    Avery Koser delivered a standout performance in Moravian’s 19-16 overtime victory at William Paterson, hauling in eight passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. The performance marked the first 100-yard receiving game of Koser’s career and made him the 24th Greyhound in program history to reach 1,000 career receiving yards. Koser’s 22-yard touchdown reception gave Moravian a 16-9 lead in the third quarter, while his eight receptions pushed his career totals to 93 catches for 1,094 yards and 11 touchdowns, ranking him 20th in program history in career receiving yards.   

    Defensive Athlete of the Week: Adian Lane (Moravian)
    Adian Lane delivered a strong defensive performance in Moravian’s 19-16 overtime victory at William Paterson, recording seven tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Lane’s impact in the turnover battle helped the Greyhounds secure the overtime road win.

    Specialist Athlete of the Week: Jonathan Levine (Moravian)
    Jonathan Levine delivered a clutch performance in Moravian’s 19-16 overtime victory at William Paterson, making field goals of 39 and 27 yards while also converting an extra point. Levine drilled the game-winning 27-yard field goal in overtime to secure the victory for the Greyhounds.The two field goals marked the first of Levine’s career and made him the first Moravian player in more than four seasons to make multiple field goals in a game.

     

  • Offensive Athlete of the Week: Will Withall (Elizabethtown)
    Will Withall delivered a clutch offensive performance, scoring in both games to help Elizabethtown go 2-0 on the week and open Landmark Conference play with a victory. Withall scored the lone goal in the Blue Jays’ non-conference road win at Hood on Wednesday before finding the back of the net again in a 3-0 victory over Wilkes. Both of Withall’s goals were game-winning goals, including the opening goal against Wilkes.

    Defensive Athlete of the Week: Donovan Friedhoff (Drew)
    Donovan Friedhoff posted a 1.00 goals-against average and .833 save percentage to help Drew go 1-0-1 on the week. He made five saves in a 1-1 draw at DeSales, with the Bulldogs’ lone goal coming on a penalty kick, before making another five stops in a 2-1 victory at Goucher in the Rangers’ Landmark Conference opener, allowing just one goal on an own goal.

  • Offensive Athlete of the Week: Amelia Kopp (Susquehanna)
    Amelia Kopp directly contributed to both of Susquehanna’s goals in a 1-0-1 week, recording one goal and one assist. She delivered the corner kick for the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Stevenson before scoring the game-tying goal off a corner kick in a 1-1 draw with defending Landmark Conference champion Scranton. Kopp added five shots and three shots on goal, helping the River Hawks extend their unbeaten streak to four matches.

    Defensive Athlete of the Week: Delaney Yaracs (Wilkes)
    Delaney Yaracs anchored Wilkes to two shutout victories over Mount Aloysius and Elizabethtown, allowing zero goals on the week. She made two saves in the shutout against Mount Aloysius before recording five crucial saves in a 1-0 victory over Elizabethtown to help the Colonels open conference play with a win.

  • Athlete of the Week: Cammi Quirk (Scranton)
    Cammi Quirk helped Scranton to a 2-1 weekend at the Hopkins Invitational, averaging 9.42 assists per set while earning All-Tournament Team honors. She recorded a match-high 49 assists, six kills, and 10 digs against nationally ranked Johns Hopkins before adding 34 assists, three kills, and four digs in a 3-0 win over Stevenson. Quirk also contributed 30 assists, 16 digs, and three aces against St. John Fisher. 

    Defensive Athlete of the Week: Sam Love (Moravian)
    Sam Love led Moravian with an impressive 5.50 digs per set during a perfect 4-0 week. Across 12 sets, Love recorded 66 digs, 10 service aces, nine assists, and one kill. She tallied seven digs, four assists, and two service aces in Moravian’s 3-0 victory at Immaculata before posting a team-high 25 digs and two assists in a 3-0 win over Alfred (N.Y). Love continued her strong defensive performance with 18 digs, three service aces, and two assists in a sweep at SUNY New Paltz. She closed out the week with 16 digs and four service aces in a 3-0 victory over USMMA.
