Records and NCAA Marks Highlight Saturday Night at Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships

BALTIMORE, Md. — Records fell, and NCAA qualifying standards were hit Saturday evening at the 2026 Landmark Conference Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships.

Drew’s Nicholas Heinio-Widell, Catholic’s Teddy Tsakumis, and the Drew University 200 freestyle relay team produced the night’s top performances. Heinio-Widell broke both the meet and conference records in the 100 butterfly with a 48.14 to secure an NCAA Invitational qualifying time, while Tsakumis captured the 100 backstroke in 48.83 to earn an NCAA B cut.

The Rangers added another record in the final event of the night, as Heinio-Widell, Brendan Burkett, Kyle Talerico, and Thiago de Miranda e Silva combined for a meet-record 1:22.98 in the 200 freestyle relay.

Additional event winners included Sean Kelty (Catholic) in the 400 IM (4:00.30), Craig Clarke (Scranton) in the 200 freestyle (1:42.56), and Thiago de Miranda e Silva (Drew) in the 100 breaststroke (55.30).

The competition concludes Sunday, February 15, with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 5:00 p.m.
